Privacy Policy
The short version
All Utiliify tools process your data entirely in your browser. We never see, store, or transmit anything you type or upload. We use Google AdSense for advertising, which may set cookies if you consent. We also collect anonymous usage statistics (no personal data) to improve our tools.
Utiliify ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website utiliify.com (the "Site"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use our Site.
1. Information We Collect
Data You Provide to Tools
All Utiliify tools process your data entirely in your browser. No data you enter into any tool is transmitted to our servers or any third party. Your inputs, outputs, and files never leave your device. We have no access to the content you process using our tools.
Automatically Collected Information
When you visit our Site, information may be collected in two ways:
First-Party Analytics (Utiliify)
We collect anonymous, aggregate usage data to understand which tools are popular and how to improve our Site. This includes:
- Pages visited and general navigation patterns
- Tool usage counts (e.g. how often a tool is used, not what you enter)
- Feature interactions (e.g. favourites, search, copy actions)
- Approximate geographic location (country only, derived from network routing)
- Device type (mobile or desktop)
This system does not collect IP addresses, browser fingerprints, or any personally identifiable information. No cookies are used. A temporary, random session identifier is stored in your browser tab's session storage and is discarded when you close the tab.
Third-Party (Advertising Partners)
Our advertising partners (Google AdSense) may collect additional information through cookies if you consent, including:
- Your IP address
- Browser type and version
- Referring website addresses
- Device type and operating system
This information is collected through cookies and similar technologies, as described in the Advertising Cookies section below.
2. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Essential Cookies
We use the following essential storage:
- Theme preference — stored in your browser's localStorage to remember your dark/light mode choice. This is not a cookie and is never sent to any server.
- Cookie consent — stored in localStorage to remember whether you have accepted or declined non-essential cookies.
Advertising Cookies (Third-Party)
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on our Site. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our Site and other websites. This includes the use of the Google DoubleClick cookie, which enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on your browsing patterns.
Specifically, Google AdSense may collect and use the following through cookies:
- Browsing activity across websites that use Google advertising services
- Demographic and interest data for ad personalisation
- Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)
First-Party Analytics (Cookieless)
Our first-party analytics system does not use cookies or any persistent tracking technology. It collects only anonymous usage counts and does not track individual users across sessions or across websites. This data is stored on Cloudflare infrastructure.
Analytics Cookies (Third-Party)
We may additionally use third-party analytics services (such as Cloudflare Web Analytics or Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use our Site. These services may collect information such as page views, session duration, and approximate geographic location.
3. How to Opt Out
You can control and opt out of personalised advertising in several ways:
- Google Ads Settings — visit google.com/settings/ads to manage your ad personalisation preferences.
- NAI Opt-Out — visit the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page to opt out of third-party advertising cookies.
- DAA Opt-Out — visit aboutads.info/choices for additional opt-out options.
- Browser settings — you can configure your browser to block cookies or alert you when cookies are being sent. Note that blocking all cookies may affect the functionality of some websites.
- Cookie consent banner — when you first visit our Site, you can decline non-essential cookies through the consent banner. You can change your preference at any time by clearing your browser's localStorage for this site.
4. Third-Party Services
Our Site uses the following third-party services:
- Google AdSense — for serving advertisements. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
- Cloudflare — for hosting and content delivery. Cloudflare's privacy policy is available at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
5. Data Retention
Since all tool processing occurs in your browser, we do not store any of your tool data. Advertising and analytics data is retained by the respective third-party services according to their own data retention policies.
6. Children's Privacy
Our Site is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:
- The right to access information held about you
- The right to request deletion of your data
- The right to object to processing of your data
- The right to data portability
South African Users (POPIA)
If you are a South African resident, the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) provides you with specific rights regarding your personal information. Since our tools process all data locally in your browser and we do not collect personal information through our tools, the data processed by our tools falls outside the scope of POPIA. However, information collected through advertising cookies by third parties is subject to those parties' compliance with POPIA and other applicable data protection laws.
EU/EEA Users (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have the right to opt out of non-essential cookies through our consent banner. The legal basis for processing data through advertising cookies is your consent.
