About This Tool

The World Clock Dashboard lets you add cities and time zones to a personalized dashboard that displays their current time as live-updating clocks. Compare times across the world at a glance, see UTC offsets for each selected zone, and quickly identify whether a location is currently within standard business hours (9 AM to 5 PM) — all without opening multiple tabs or doing mental math.

The dashboard is designed for anyone who regularly works across time zones. Remote teams with members in different countries can keep a shared reference of everyone's local time. Customer support teams serving global clients can see at a glance which regions are currently in business hours. Travelers can compare their home time zone with their destination. Stock traders can monitor multiple market hours simultaneously. Freelancers and consultants can align their availability with clients on other continents.

Adding a time zone is simple: search by city name, country, or UTC offset, and click to add it to your dashboard. You can add as many zones as you need, rearrange them by dragging, and remove any that are no longer relevant. Each clock card shows the current time, the date, the UTC offset, and a visual business-hours indicator — a green highlight when the time is between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM local time.

The business hours indicator is particularly valuable for scheduling. Instead of converting each time zone manually to check whether a colleague or client is available, the dashboard tells you instantly. This visual cue eliminates one of the most common pain points in cross-timezone collaboration: accidentally scheduling a meeting at 11 PM someone's local time.

Your selected time zones are automatically saved in your browser's local storage. When you return to the dashboard, your previous configuration is restored — no account needed, no sign-in required. The clocks update every second to stay current, and they automatically adjust for daylight saving time transitions in regions that observe DST.

The interface uses the built-in Intl.DateTimeFormat API, which follows the IANA time zone database maintained by the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority. This is the same database used by operating systems like Windows, macOS, and Linux, ensuring that offsets and DST rules are always accurate and up to date.

The dashboard is fully responsive and works on desktop, tablet, and mobile screens. On mobile, the clock cards stack vertically for easy scrolling. On desktop, you can see multiple clocks side by side for quick comparison. All data stays in your browser — no server-side storage, no tracking, no accounts.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this handle daylight saving time?
Yes. It uses the Intl.DateTimeFormat API which follows the IANA timezone database, automatically adjusting for DST changes. When a region shifts its clocks, the dashboard reflects the change immediately.
Are my selected timezones saved?
Yes. Your timezone selections are saved in your browser localStorage and restored when you return. No account or sign-in is required.
What does the business hours indicator mean?
The green highlight shows that the current time in that timezone falls between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM local time, a common range for standard business hours. This helps you identify at a glance which regions are currently available for communication.
How many timezones can I add?
There is no hard limit. You can add as many timezone clocks as you need. However, for readability, keeping the dashboard to 4-8 zones provides the best at-a-glance experience.
Can I search by city or country?
Yes. The search supports city names (e.g., "Tokyo"), country names (e.g., "Australia"), and UTC offsets (e.g., "UTC+5:30"). Results appear as you type for quick selection.
How often do the clocks update?
The clocks update every second, giving you a real-time view of the current time in each selected timezone. The display shows hours, minutes, and seconds.
Is my data sent to a server?
No. All clock calculations run locally in your browser using the Intl.DateTimeFormat API. Your timezone selections are stored in localStorage on your device only.
